Electric Bing Sutt
Electric Bing Sutt is an all-day restaurant and bar in Gemmayzeh, Beirut, conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the Hong Kong-inspired Bing Sutt. Set within a historic building, the interior combines the character of the existing structure with a new, vibrant identity.
The space is organized around a central bar, with dining and lounge areas creating different atmospheres within a continuous interior. The relationship with the street is deliberately maintained through large openings, allowing the restaurant to become an extension of Gemmayzeh's active urban life.
Original stone walls and timber elements are retained as a textured backdrop to a contemporary palette of furniture, lighting and color. Pastel green surfaces, patterned details and simple furnishings contrast with more intense red and neon lighting, creating an interior that changes character throughout the day.
Lighting plays a central role in the experience. During the day, natural light and the connection to the street give the space an open and informal quality. At night, red illumination and neon elements transform the restaurant into a more intimate and immersive environment.
The result is an interior where space, material and light create a distinctive hospitality experience while preserving a clear connection to the character of Gemmayzeh and the existing building.
