As'saafa Hotel

As'saafa Hotel is located in Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, within walking distance of Al Masjid an-Nabawi. The interior design draws from the architectural character of the city, translating elements such as vaults, arcades, niches and local patterns into a contemporary hospitality environment.

The ground-floor lobby was originally narrow and fragmented. The intervention opens and reorganizes the space into a sequence of clearly defined zones for reception, waiting, gathering and retail. Arched forms and recessed seating create moments of intimacy while establishing a stronger sense of movement and visual continuity throughout the lobby.

Materiality reinforces the connection to place. Warm, earthy tones, textured surfaces and timber are combined with patterns inspired by Al Madinah and interpreted through screens, flooring, fabrics and custom details. Rather than reproducing traditional motifs literally, these references are abstracted into a contemporary interior language.

The furniture and lighting continue this approach, balancing comfort and refinement with the calm character of the spaces. The result is a hospitality interior rooted in the identity of Al Madinah while responding to the needs of a contemporary hotel.
